Verizon Satellite Tv Bundles
I need to switch internet and phone providers?
I have verizon right now for my phone and internet. We have a bundle package that includes Direct tv. I have contacted direct tv and found out that I can have them without verizon as well as get Satellite internet. One question is Satellite internet good and reliable? Also where could I get phone service at that point, I don't want to use our cell phones. Does anyone know of a way I can get a wireless card to put in a router so all the laptops in my house can become wireless, I am thinking this might be a alternative to the internet problem. I appreciate all responses.
Don't bundle. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, as the saying goes. That way, if you get tired of one aspect of a service, you can drop it without dropping the rest.
Satellite internet is good and reliable. But check your neighborhood. Is it available? In ours, for example, two problems. One is, the weather, believe it or not. Users now and then have to go up and sweep snow off their dishes every now and then. It matters. Another is, are you in range? Check. There's a neighborhood coop here, the only thing that reaches my neighborhood. You buy your own gear, join the group, go to local meetings, and get a signal from a dish that's relayed by radio towers here and there.
Still use your choice at that point: land line or cell phone for phone service, completely separate. Depends on what you can find.
